I created this course in response to many request for training for newly promoted leaders and supervisors in small businesses. Research says that about 60% of internally promoted leaders will fail in their first year. I suggest that in small businesses that number is higher because there are less resources to learn from. The tried and true adage of “what got you here today is not necessarily going to get you there tomorrow” is never more true than in regards to a newly promoted leader. Most new leaders try to be super employees and do more of what they were doing that got them promoted. Instead, they need a new set of skills that work with their new problem – supervising people.
